Those Who Hunt Elves

Those Who Hunt Elves (Japanese:エルフを狩るモノたち) is a manga series and an animated Japanese television series, released in the U.S. by ADV Films. The plot revolves around three travelers, the eponymous "Those Who Hunt Elves", and the sorceress Mistress Celcia; they seek five spell fragments that have been placed on the skin of elves, similar to tattoos, throughout the magical world they have been transported to; when they find them, they will be able to return to Japan. Those Who Hunt Elves travel by means of a tank, which has been transported to the magical world with them. The reaction of various elves as the team attempts to strip them naked is a primary basis for many of the show's jokes, which are more ridiculous than risque.

Characters

  • Ritsuko drives the tank and also acts as a sniper from time to time; she often sets landmines and booby traps.
  • Junpei is skilled in martial arts, and often fights multiple enemies at a time.
  • Airi, who often disguises herself as various minor characters, is a skilled actor.
  • Mistress Celcia is widely regarded as the leader of the elves and has powerful magic, but accidentally semipermanently turns herself into a dog in order to obscure the fact that she is helping Those Who Hunt Elves.
  • The Tank is possessed during the show by the spirit of a cat.
