To Die For
To Die For is a black comedy film directed in 1995 by Gus Van Sant, starring Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon and Joaquin Phoenix. George Segal has an uncredited cameo appearance. The screenplay by Buck Henry is based on the novel by Joyce Maynard (ISBN 0595269397) about the trial of Pamela Smart. Pamela Smart was accused and imprisoned for seducing a young man and convincing him to kill her husband. Kidman was nominated for a BAFTA and won a Golden Globe Award for her performance.
