Todd Carty

Todd Carty (born August 31, 1963) is a British actor.

Born Todd Jennings in Ireland, he grew up in Kilburn, London. His first television appearance in the UK was in an advertisement for Woolworths. Since then he has had a number of notable roles in British television shows, particularly as Tucker in Grange Hill in the 1980s, as Mark Fowler in EastEnders from 1990 to 2002 and most recently (as of October 2003) as the sadistic, malevolent PC Gabriel (really David) Kent in The Bill from 2003 onwards. He has also had a number of small roles and voiceover parts.

Carty's role in EastEnders was critically acclaimed: he was one of the first actors to portray someone living with HIV on British television.
