Tommy's
Original Tommy's is a Southern California American hamburger chain, known for its chili-cheeseburgers (aka "belly-bombers") and chili-fries. Their original small stand, at the corner of Beverly and Rampart Boulevards north-west of downtown Los Angeles, was opened on May 15, 1946. There are now 27 Original Tommmy's, with all of them in the Greater Los Angeles Area except for the one in Barstow, California.
The first Original Tommy's, which like most of their other restaurants is open 24 hours, is often very busy, even in the middle of the night. You can expect to see everything from limousines to people in their bathrobes.
Other hamburger chains that have started in the Los Angeles area include In-N-Out ( Baldwin Park), Fatburger ( Los Angeles), and McDonald's ( San Bernardino).
