Toni Turek
Toni Turek, real name Anton Turek, (born January 18, 1919 in Duisburg - died May 11, 1984 in Neuss) was a German Football goalkeeper.
Turek started his career at the Duisburger Sportclub , but he soon switched to Duisburg 99 . In 1959 he switched to Fortuna Düsseldorf . Between 1950 and 1954 he played 20 games for the German national football team. He played in the famous Football World Cup 1954 final and won the Championship.
His achievements during this game were described by the sports reporter Herbert Zimmermann with the words Toni, you're a football god.
