Toto Cutugno
Toto Cutugno is an Italian singer and winner of Eurovision Song Contest 1990 with the song Insieme 1992, a ballad which celebrated European political integration. Along with Gigliola Cinquetti, Italy's only other Eurovision winner from 1964, he co-presented the 1991 contest, which was staged in Rome as a consequence of his victory. However, the event descended into a degree of chaos, partly due to his own confusion over how the scoring system worked. He had previously won the San Remo Music Festival in 1980 with the song Solo noi, and had subsequently finished second in the event five times: in 1984 with the song Serenata, in 1987 with the song Figli, in 1988 with the song Emozioni, in 1989 with the song Le mamme and in 1990 with the song Gli amori sung with Ray Charles.
