Trainz

Trainz , fully Trainz Railroad Simulator is a train simulator developed by Auran.

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 (known as TRS among users) is an incredibly immersive game for creating, driving on, and operating a railroad(note: not a business simulation), divided into four basic parts: Driver, Surveyor, Scenarios, and Railyard.

Surveyor is an incredibly easy-to-use route editor. On average, it takes maybe 5 minutes to learn the basics of Surveyor, and small branch lines can even be made in a matter of hours. And the items in Trainz are not the only items available for use: At last count, there are over 9,200 buildings, 5,000 scenery items, and other items available to download from Auran's Download Station.

Driver is an interactive, dynamic driving module. Take a leisurely drive through any map you've downloaded with the DCC mode, with a small dial very similar to that on the Atlas Command Station DCC system. Or take on a challenger with the prototypical Cab mode, utilising the levers and dials inside the cab for a realistic driving experience. You can also haul real, visible loads, from passengers to things such as steel, bricks, and coal to keep all the industries in your world functioning. If you don't feel like doing all the driving yourself, you can add AI-controlled trains, or make them all AI controlled, so you can just sit back and watch.

Scenarios are pre-scripted activities created by innovative members of the Trainz community, letting you go through a specific set of challenges, such as getting your passengers to their destinations on schedule, or switching rail cars in a rail yard without damaging the cargo.

Railyard is where you can view your collection of locomotives. As with Surveyor, your collection is not limited to the built-in objects: At last count, there were over 4,000 locomotives and 5965 rollingstock items available from the Download Station.
