Traitor (Star Wars novel)

(Redirected from Traitor(novel))

Traitor is a New Jedi Order novel by Matthew Stover . Published and released in 2002, it is the sixteenth installment of the series set in the Star Wars galaxy.

Jacen Solo is captured by the Yuuzhan Vong and placed under the tutelage of Vergere, a Jedi Master from the days of the Galactic Republic who travels with the Yuuzhan Vong. Solo escapes from the Yuuzhan Vong to the surface of Vongformed Coruscant -- now Yuuzhan'tar -- with Vergere in pursuit.

Editorially, Traitor was so loved by fans as a serious work of literature that its author, Matthew Stover, was given work on the Clone Wars novel Shatterpoint, and given the task of adapting Episode III into a novelization. The book has earned a lot of recognition for its attempt to make a true novel in a Star Wars setting. Its narrative descriptions, symbolism, metaphysical passages, and its incredibly small amount of dramatis personae (5 significant characters) make it a uniquely valuable Star Wars text.
