Turisas is a Finnish band founded in 1997 by Mathias Nygård und Jussi Wickström and named after an ancient Finnish god of war.
Their style is difficult to classify for they are mixing many metal substyles. It is best described by epic viking metal mixed up with finnish humppa dances and with heavy power metal influences.
