Unione Calcio Albinoleffe is an Italian football club based in Leffe and Albino, Italy. The club was formed in 1998, after the fusion of former Serie C2 teams Albinese and Leffe, respectively from Albino and Leffe, two neighbouring cities. Then, after having been promoted to Italian Serie C1, in 2003 Albinoleffe gained a surprising triumph for the division play-off final, beating Pisa Calcio , which gave them the right to play Serie B.
The team plays its home matches at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia , in Bergamo, which is the capital city of the Albinoleffe's referring province. It does so because of the tiny capacity of the 2,260-seats Leffe city stadium, where Albinoleffe played its matches for divisions lower than Serie B. Even though Albinoleffe was considered to be a outsider for the 2003-2004 Serie B season, which included several titled clubs, the Lombardian team concluded the season avoiding the relegation.
