United Kingdom general election, 2005

The United Kingdom general election of 2005 will be held on 5 May, 2005, just over three weeks after the dissolution of Parliament on 11 April by Queen Elizabeth II, at the request of the Prime Minister, Tony Blair. The general election is a first-past-the-post election in each of the 646 constituencies in the United Kingdom, for seats in the House of Commons. The party which wins the largest number of seats is likely to form the country's next government.
