USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49) is a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship of the United States Navy. She was named for Harpers Ferry, Virginia, a significant location during the Civil War.
Harpers Ferry was laid down on 15 April 1991, by the Avondale Shipyards, New Orleans, La.; launched on 16 January 1993; and commissioned on 7 January 1995.
On 1 September 2002, Harpers Ferry relieved Germantown (LSD-42) as a forward-deployed naval unit in FA Sasebo, Japan.
As of 2005, Harpers Ferry is commanded by CDR Humberto L. Quintanilla II, forward deployed at Sasebo, Japan, and assigned to Amphibious Group 1 .
