Ulric Dahlgren
Colonel Ulric Dahlgren (died March 2, 1864) was the son of United States Admiral John A. Dahlgren. He is best known for his involvement and death during an 1864 raid on the Confederate capitol of Richmond, Virginia.
Papers found on the body of Dahlgren shortly after his death in battle contained orders for an assassination plot against Confederate President Jefferson Davis. The discovery and publication of the Dahlgren Papers sparked an international controversy and may have contributed to John Wilkes Booth's decision to assassinate Union President Abraham Lincoln one year later.
