Unified Team
The Unified Team was the name used for the sports team of the former Soviet Union at both the Winter and Summer Olympic Games of 1992 (in Albertville and Barcelona, respectively). The official French name used was Equipe Unifiée, hence the abbreviation EUN which appears in result listings. The team consisted of athletes of all former Soviet republics except the Baltic states. It was sometimes informally called the Commonwealth of Independent States team, although Georgia did not join the CIS until 1993. The following list gives the EUN's participating countries, the IOC codes used by them in subsequent Olympics, and their extent of 1992 participation:
- Armenia (ARM) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Azerbaijan (AZE) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Belarus (BLR)
- Georgia (GEO) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Kazakhstan (KAZ)
- Kyrgyzstan (KGZ) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Moldova (MDA) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Russia (RUS)
- Tajikistan (TJK) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Turkmenistan (TKM) (only the Summer Olympics)
- Ukraine (UKR)
- Uzbekistan (UZB)
