United Nations Association of the United States of America

The United Nations Association of the United States of America or UNA-USA was founded in 1943 by Eleanor Roosevelt as the American Association for the United Nations (AAUN) which was merged with the U.S. Committee for the United Nations in 1964.

UNA-USA is a non-profit organization which serves to educate Americans about the United Nations (UN) and about the issues being addressed by the UN. UNA-USA also works to support and encourage the Model United Nations (MUN) programs, most of which are organized locally by interested teachers and students. Community based chapters of UNA-USA arrange for experts to present public seminars on foreign policy issues related to the UN and encourage MUN by giving financial support to MUN programs in local colleges and high schools to assist students in attending MUN out-of-state conferences.
