United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics
The United States competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. It was the twenty-third time that the nation had competed, having missed only the boycotted 1980 Summer Olympics. The United States competed under the IOC country code USA.

Triathlon
At the inaugural Olympic triathlon competition, the United States was represented by three men and three women. Two of the women placed in the top eight, with Joanna Zeiger missing a medal by about 17 seconds.
Women's:
- Joanna Zeiger - 2:01:25.74 (4th place)
- Sheila Taormina - 2:02:45.91 (6th place)
- Jennifer Gutierrez - 2:03:38.48 (13th place)
Men's:
- Hunter Kemper - 1:50:05.56 (17th place)
