University Students' Council
The University Students' Council represents the undergraduate students at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. It is a member of the Canadian Alliance of Students Associations and the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance.
Principles
- To maintain responsible student government to act as the representative of undergraduate students in all issues affecting the student.
- To represent all undergraduate Western students to the University and London communities and all levels of government.
- To provide cost effective services that meet the needs of students.
- To encourage student contributions to the University and the community at large.
- To offer programming designed to enhance the educational, cultural, recreational, social, and intellectual experiences of undergraduate Western students.
Achievements
- Over 700 employees (1 out of every 30 students)
- Over 12,000 students involved in programming activities (1 out of every 2 students)
- 26 Awareness weeks (out of 36 in the academic year)
- Award winning radio station, CHRW 94.9 FM
- Only daily student newspaper in Canada, The Gazette
- A 21 million dollar incorporated not-for-profit student run organization
- Largest student organization in Canada
