University of Alberta Students' Union

The University of Alberta Students' Union was a founding member of the Canadian Alliance of Students Associations. They represent the 25,000 undergraduate students at the University of Alberta. An eight-million dollar non-profit organisation with hundreds of paid and volunteer staff, the SU is a powerful advocate for students and a major provider of student services. The SU also operates number of business units, non-profit services, manages various targeted 'trust' funds, hosts a wide variety of entertainment and educational events, and runs the Students' Union Building.

Council

Students' Council is the ultimate decision-making body of the Students' Union. Composed of representatives elected from each faculty and five executive members elected in a campus-wide general election each March.

Representation

Provincially, the Students' Union paticipates in the Council of Alberta University Students. Federally, they are unaffiliated.
