University of British Columbia Alma Mater Society
The Alma Matter Society of UBC represents the more than 36, 000 students at UBC, and operates a wide variety of student services, student owned businesses, resource groups and clubs. They are a member of the Canadian Alliance of Students Associations.
Government
How the fees collected by AMS are administered, is decided by the AMS Council. They are a group of elected student representatives that gather twice a month to decide on the inner workings of the student society. Things like the student health plan, changes to the Student Union Building, and what to do with the over eight million dollar AMS budget are decided by Council.
