University of Toronto at Scarborough
The University of Toronto at Scarborough (UTSC) is a campus of the University of Toronto, with an enrollment of approximately 7,200 full-time and 800 part-time students. It opened in 1964 as Scarborough College, and it is in Scarborough, an eastern section of Toronto.
UTSC is the only University of Toronto campus to offer a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree. UTSC has begun to offer joint programs with Centennial College in journalism, new media, and paramedicine. All the co-op programs of University of Toronto are located at UTSC (programmes which include up to a year of work experience as part of the degree). The majority of degrees at UTSC are Specialist degrees, as opposed to majors and minors at other campuses. It is especially well known for its International Development Studies co-op and Management co-op programmes.
The campus is also currently in an expansion phase, with a new Student Centre and a building housing the division of Management officially opened in October 2004. A separate building for the division of Arts Management is currently under construction.
The campus spans 300 acres (1.2 km²) of woodlands, trails, and fields, and is on the Highland Creek ravine.
