University of Victoria Students' Society

University of Victoria Students' Society local 44 of the Canadian Federation of Students is the student union for students at the University of Victoria.

The UVSS has over 17,000 members and has been at the forefront of the student movement in British Columbia since it was founded in 1963.

The UVSS has a participatory democratic structure with annual elections of an executive. Members are able to force referendum and general meetings with the signatures of 10% and 1% of the membership respectively. The executive is made up of a 11 Directors at Large, Constituency Representatives, Chair, Director of Finance, Director of Academics and Director of Services.

Programs offered by the UVSS include CFUV the campus radio station, the Martlet newspaper and Cinecenta movie theatre. The UVSS is based and controls the Student Union Building at the University of Victoria.
