AlexWCovington has been making trouble on the Internet since 1997. He began contributing to the English Wikipedia on 11 January 2003. He began contributing to the French Wikipedia on 31 March 2003

As of 4 March 2005, Alexwcovington has made 2399 total edits to English Wikipedia, including 2085 in the article space.

His Contributions tend to be error-ridden at first and posted before previewed, though lately he has improved. Over the course of his editing, he has become more generally sympathetic to inclusionist views of Wikipedia, but anonymous edits, especially on talk pages, leave a bad taste in his mouth.

Alexwcovington is the recipient of a number of dubious awards and distinctions, including the Coolidge Award for Inept Leadership and being the last Wikipedian to post an edit before the upgrade to MediaWiki 1.4 on 23 December 2004.

Quotables

  • "If you don't like it, change it yourself, it's a wiki."
  • (to a friend, in jest): "All good plagarists add their own stuff to throw off the teachers. Be sure every sixth word is different."
  • "Wiki-politics is odd and definitely lethal. I'm staying out of it."
    • "Then again, some points just have to be argued."
  • "Well if you're just going to be a slave to appearances, get some designer shackles."
  • It's scary just how fast Wikipedia is growing. It's like some alien brain probe sucking up all human knowledge."
