User:Rama/Nemo of honour

The Nemo of Honour is my own personal little honourific distinction.

For some reasons, I don't feel very comfortable with the barnstar

  • Will the barnstar make the user look "officially approved" and give him more weight ?
  • If other users disagree with the barnstar, is there are risc that they might start distributing barnstars everywhere "to compensate" ?
  • I don't like howling with the wolves, do I ?
  • What is this "barnstar" thing anyway ? Sounds vaguely Amish to me... (not everybody is from the United States of America)

So I drafted this, which is supposed to be in the spirit of the "good points" images which were given to school children in the 19th Century. It's supposed to be more personal (the images are chosen for each user) and of less consequence than the barnstar.

Recipients of the Nemo of Honour:

  • Sannse -- for being a generally cool person
  • Kate -- for being a light in disaster
  • Sonjaaa -- for being a generally cool person
  • Dysprosia -- in recognition of the whole musical works in general
  • David.Monniaux-- In recognition of heroic behaviour with the squids
  • Tony Sidaway -- for keeping sensible about position and heading
  • JamesMLane -- for looking to little weird things and fixing them
  • Sam Hocevar -- for pointing out lots of tiny annoying mistakes
  • Cdang -- for outstanding contributions in rescue-related articles
  • Jfdwolff -- for outstanding contributions in rescue-related articles
  • Rdsmith4 -- for courageous and constant fight against hideous things
  • AlexR -- for excellent and courageous work on Opus Dei.

People to consider:

  • Firebug NPOVing Terri Schiavo (a bloody battlefield), and coming up with an unexpectedly accurate criterion (for a new user) for defining trolls (monomaniac users contributing only tiny changes on a very few particular articles without adding real information -- a criteria which had been on several minds)
  • Jayjg -- fair play
  • Ta bu shi da yu (no gone :/)
