User:RickK/Jimbo's statement

Jimbo Wales has made it abundantly clear that my being here is unappreciated and unacceptable. I am therefore removing myself from Wikipedia. Everybody have fun. It's been a great couple of years. How will I fill my time now? RickK 06:50, Feb 13, 2005 (UTC)

Rick, this is just not true. Please forgive me. The entire point of the story is precisely how much I appreciate you.

I recently wrote praise to you, to the arbcom, encouraging them basically to ignore certain types of complaints against you precisely because you are "he's on the frontlines dealing with idiocy the depths of which we can only imagine."

I ask you, out of the deepest respect and friendship, that you forgive me for this and let me have the opportunity to make it up to you, to expand my comments, and to make things right. You deserve better than for me to leave it like this without a proper discussion.

I have not seen the video, but I was speaking extemporaneously and going with the flow from the crowd. It seems very very likely to me that if it upset you, I did not present it the way that I intended. I had no idea that it would -- I intended it to be an image that you would enjoy. It was NOT MEANT AS AN INSULT but AS APPRECIATION.
