Val Müstair

The Val Müstair (German: Münstertal) is a mountain valley in the Alps.

The largest part of the valley is part of the Swiss canton of Graubünden. A small part lies within the Italian region of South-Tyrol. It connects the Pass dal Fuorn (2149 meter) with the Val Venosta (German: Vinschau) (914 meter).

The Swiss-Italian border is located at approximately 1245 meter between Müstair (1247 meter) and Tubre/Taufers (1240 meter)

The stream in the Val Müstair is the Rio Ramm .

The most important villages in the Val Müstair are Tschierv (1660 meter), Valchava (1412 meter), Sta. Maria (1375 meter), Müstair (1247 meter) (all Swiss) and Tubre/Taufers in Italy. There are no inhabited connected valleys, but the roads over the Pass Umbrail and the Giogo dello Stelvio are connected with Sta Maria.

In Müstair is monastery that was probably founded by Charlemagne
