Valery Mezague
Valery Mezague (born December 8, 1983 in Marseille, France) is a Cameroonian Association Football (soccer) player. He is a midfielder, and currently plays for English club Portsmouth F.C. (on loan from French club Montpellier Herault SC).
Mezague was part of the Cameroon national squad at the 2002 World Cup hosted by Korea & Japan.
The midfielder continued to improve, proving to be a great talent. However, in 2003, he was involved in a serious car crash which ruled him out of the game for four months. Despite this he fought back to reclaim his squad place.
His performances attracted the attention of Harry Redknapp, and Mezague joined Portsmouth on loan for the 2004/05 season, with an option of a permanent transfer should he impress during the season.
