Vladimir Grigoryevich Yermolaev
Vladimir Grigoryevich Yermolaev (1909-1944) was a Soviet aircraft designer, general-major of aviation engineering service. He graduated from the Moscow State University in 1931.
Yermolaev was a leading engineer in development of "Stal-7" aircraft. Yermolaev have became the chief of OKB of R.L.Bartini in 1939 after Bartini was arrested. He have lead the development and production of Stal-7 based long range bomber Er-2 (DB-240) and its variants Er-4 with ACh-30 engines. Executed R.L.Bartini have became a subordinate of Yermolaev.
Yermolaev dead in 1944 due to a typhus infection. His OKB was inherited by P.O.Sukhoy.
