Volvo Masters Andalucia
The Volvo Masters Andalucia is the concluding official money event of the PGA European Tour season, the equivalent of the Tour Championship on the PGA Tour.
Until 2000 it was known simply as the "Volvo Masters". Andalucia is the region of Spain in which the tournament has always been held since it began in 1988. Except for a gap from 1997 to 2001, it has always been hosted by Valderrama Golf Club. The prize money for the inaugural event was £351,690, and by 2004, this had increased to €3,750,000. The field consists of approximately sixty leading money winners on the PGA European Tour. The Volvo Masters is held one week before the Tour Championship to allow golfers who are members of both the European and PGA Tours to participate.
