Warp Films
Warp Films, a side project of Warp Records, was set up in 1999 with funding from NESTA .
They state: Warp Films is an independent film production company which aims to mirror the ethos of its partner music label Warp Records. By keeping the creative process at the core of our approach to filmmaking, Warp Films aims to create fresh and innovative feature length and short films to be viewed by a wide audience. Our current priorities are nurturing and developing existing talent, as well as discovering new exciting filmmakers.
At present there have only been two releases on Warp Films: My Wrongs #8245-8249 & 117 by Chris Morris, which won the Best Short Film award at the BAFTA Awards, and Dead Man's Shoes, which has received good reviews.
Chris Cunningham, responsible for Aphex Twin's videos Come To Daddy and Windowlicker, has recently joined the production firm. He is working on an abstract short film called Rubber Johnny, which will feature the music of Aphex Twin and is due to be released on May 23, 2005.
