Watching Ellie
Watching Ellie was a short lived (2002-2003) NBC sitcom starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, previously famous for playing Elaine on Seinfeld (also by NBC). Supporting actors included Steve Carell and Darren Boyd . The Ellie in the title was a professional singer, so musical numbers were not rare.
The show was presented as happening in real time. Each 22-minute episode was meant to portray a 22-minute slice of Ellie's life. A clock in the corner of the screen kept track of the time.
