Whistler, British Columbia

Whistler is a resort community in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Named for the hoary marmots that live in the area, it is incorporated as a district resort municipality, and has a permanent population of approximately 9,965. Over two million people annually visit Whistler, primarily for its world-famous snow skiing.

Whistler will be the co-host (alongside Vancouver) of the XXI Winter Olympic Games in 2010, which will take place at the Whistler-Blackcomb Resort. A "hydrogen highway" is planned to link the two cities by 2010, allowing environmentally friendly hydrogen powered vehicles to travel freely between them.
