William Burn
William Burn (1789-1870) was a Scottish architect. After training with the architect of the British Museum, Sir Robert Smirke, he established a practice in Edinburgh in partnership with David Bryce. From 1844 he worked in London. Burn was a versatile architect who was happy to turn his hand to a variety of styles. His works included the Edinburgh Academy and Montagu House in London. He also designed or remodelled many country houses, including Harlaxton Manor and Prestwold Hall .
