William L. Dayton
William Lewis Dayton (February 17, 1807 – December 1, 1864) was an American lawyer from Freehold Borough, New Jersey. He represented New Jersey in the United States Senate from 1842-1851 and in 1856 was the first Republican nominee for Vice-President of the United States.
