Windsports
Windsports refer to wind powered recreation with very light equipment.
These activities may be regulated in some countries by the aviation/nautical authorities.
The activities can be;
- Parachuting and base jumping - controlled descent with a nylon canopy
- Paragliding - soaring with a nylon canopy
- Hang_gliding - soaring with a rigid frame, nylon covered aircraft
- Kiteboarding - a small paraglider type canopy with surfboard underneath (Kitesurfing)
- Windsurfing and Sailing - a sail attached to a surfboard or vessel respectively
- Ice sailing - a sail attached to a vessel with skates
- parasailing - a paraglider towed by a vehicle in order to ascend
- microlight - a hang glider with a powered prop (also see ultralight aircraft )
