The Winnetka district of Los Angeles, California is a suburb in the Western part of the San Fernando Valley, bordered by Canoga Park and Woodland Hills on the South, by Chatsworth to the North, and by Reseda to the East.

History

Named by Charles Weeks for his local poultry business that he named after another that he owned in Winnetka, Illinois.

Before World War II, this area was rural, as was Chatsworth.

The district of Winnetka was originally part of Canoga Park, but later was separated into its own district of the City of Los Angeles.
