| Without You I'm Nothing (1987) | ||
Without You I'm Nothing is the name of the second record released by comedienne and singer Sandra Bernhard. It was released at the height of her career and is a live performance recording that was issued on double-cassette, double-compact -isc and double-vinyl in 1987; it was later re-released on double-compact-disc and made available for sale on Bernhard's own website. The re-release condensed the material from the original two discs onto one disc, and included a second disc of bonus material. The original release is considered highly collectable and often fetches upwards of $300 at auction. This is due in part to the fact that a then-unheard-of Tori Amos is featured singing backing vocals on the track "Little Red Corvette," a cover of the song by Prince. The recording combines what became Bernhard's trademark combination of live music performance and witty, sarcastic comedy. The recording contains material from Bernhard's award-winning one-woman show of the same name. The show was also turned into a film; for information on the movie, see "Without You I'm Nothing".
