Wolfgang Rihm
Wolfgang Rihm (b. March 13, 1952) is a composer from in Karlsruhe. He finished both his school and his studies in music theory and composition in 1972. Since then he developed into a famous composer of contemporary music, being currently the most often performed living composer in the world. He is Head of the Institute of Modern Music at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Wolfgang Rihm was named composer in residence at the festivals of Lucerne and Salzburg.
He was honoured as "Officier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" by France in 2001.
