Woodsy Owl

Woodsy Owl is a mascot for the United States Forest Service created in 1970. He is an anthropomorphic owl.

He was created in 1970 to raise awareness of protecting the environment, his motto being "Give a hoot, don't pollute." Woodsy's current motto is "Lend a hand—care for the land!"
