World Building

The term world-building refers to the construction of fictional worlds or milieux.

The World Building was a early skyscraper in New York City finished in 1890 that has since been destroyed. It took the title of world's tallest building from the Home Insurance Building. The World Building comprised 20 stories and its roof rose to 309 ft (94.2 m) and a pinnacle that rose to 349 ft (106.4 m). It was surpassed by the Manhattan Life Insurance Building (also destroyed) in roof height in 1894 (although it did not surpass its pinnacle height) and the Park Row Building in 1899.
