Xanthelasma
Xanthelasma (or xanthelasma palpabrum) are yellowish collections of cholesterol around the eyes. Although not harmful, they may be disfiguring and can be removed surgically.
There is some association between high cholesterol levels in the blood and development of xanthelasmas. Additionally, it may be a sign of the rare disease primary biliary cirrhosis.
