Yamato, Kanagawa
Yamato (Japanese: 大和市; -shi) is a city located in Kanagawa, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 218,999 and the density of 8,093.09 persons per km². The total area is 27.06 km².
History
The city was established as a village in 1891, promoted to a town in 1943, and promoted to a city on February 1, 1959.
