Yelena Baturina

Yelena Nikolayevna Baturina (Еле́на Никола́евна Бату́рина) (born March 8, 1963 in Moscow, Russia, USSR) is a Russian businesswoman.

After graduating from high school, Baturina began working at the Fraser plant where her parents worked. She soon left for the Institute of Economical Problems of All-Around Development of the National Economy. She later got a degree, graduating from the Management Institute. Baturina met her future husband and mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov in the late 1980s, and they married in 1991, the same year she founded her company, Inteco. During Luzhkov's years as mayor, Inteco grew quickly (mostly focused on construction and plastics business). He was accused of corruption because her company was getting municipal contracts. According to Forbes magazine, her net worth as of 2004 is more than $1,000,000,000.

She is an equestrian enthusiast and the president of the Equestrian Federation of Russia. Has two daughters with Luzhkov, Alyona (born 1992) and Olga (born March 1994).
