Yuuzhan Vong invasion
The Yuuzhan Vong invasion (25-30 ABY) was a massive, bloody conflict from the fictional Star Wars universe, starting approximately 25 galactic standard years after the Battle of Yavin (EP4: A New Hope), and ending five years later. It saw the deaths of many of the New Republic's/Galactic Alliance's greatest heroes, including but not limited to Chewbacca; Anakin Solo; and Admiral Ackbar. It is chronicled in the New Jedi Order series. The series also saw birth to Ben Skywalker, son of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker.
