Yuva

Yuva is a Hindi feature film released in 2004 and directed by Indian director Mani Ratnam. Simultaneously made in Hindi (as Yuva) and Tamil (as Azhutha Ezhuthu), this film tells the stories of three men from completely different strata of society and one fateful incident on Calcutta's Hooghly Bridge which changes their lives forever.

Ajay Devgan plays Michael Mukherji, a student who is actively into college politics and believes that the world can be changed through their efforts. There is also a goon-for-hire named Lallan (Abhishek Bachchan) who has no qualms about doing dirty jobs for money. His wife is played by Rani Mukherji in the movie. The third character is named Arjun (Vivek Oberoi), who leads a carefree life and dreams of a life abroad.

After the incident is shown at the beginning of the movie, the stories of how the young men got there are told through flashbacks in a very innovative style which contrasts with that of typical Bollywood masala movies. The film, however, was not a big hit with many in India, though it appealed to younger audiences.
