Yvert
Yvert et Tellier is a French philatelic publisher founded in 1896. The head office is in Amiens, northern France. The logo is a circle divided between a snow flake and a smiling sun.
It publishes stamp catalog and cd-roms to help stamp collecting. In France, it is one of the most important philatelic editors with Ceres and Dallay . In association with stamp dealer Théodore Champion , it edits a continuing world stamp catalog monthly.
Yvert is a reference for stamps largely collecting by French philatelists : France, Andorra, Monaco, former French colonies and their philatelic history as independent states. For non-European countries, it has catalogs organized in alphabetic order whereas the German Michel uses a geographical classification.
But, since 2001, Dallay catalog has a major effect on the French philatelist public by giving larger stamp pictures and informations as name of the drawer and engraver, date of issue, use, etc. Yvert has been fighting on two fronts :
- it has made justice declared its copyright on its numerotation,
- it sells a free cd-rom with its French stamp catalog.
In the same time, Yvert et Tellier sells stamps and philatelic furnitures.
