Enzymes Science Fair Project

Tea Leaves and Plant Growth

Medium
Tea Leaves and Plant Growth | Science Fair Projects | STEM Projects
In this experiment, we'll be testing whether rose plants planted in soil containing tea leaves will grow more quickly than those planted in soil without tea leaves.

Hypothesis

The hypothesis is that rose plants planted in soil containing tea leaves will grow more quickly.

Method & Materials

You will separate 10 rose plants into two groups of 5 pots each. One group will have soil mixed with tea leaves, and the other group will have soil without tea leaves. You will measure the height of the plants every week for 4 weeks.
You will need 10 potted rose plants, used tea leaves, a ruler, gardening utensils, water, and a black marker pen.

Results

The results showed that the plants that were planted in soil mixed with used tea leaves, grew at a faster rate over the 4 weeks. This proves that the hypothesis is true.

Why do this project?

This science project is interesting because it shows how something as simple as tea leaves can be used to enhance plant growth.

Also Consider

Consider repeating the experiment using different types of plants, or using grounded coffee instead of tea leaves.
