Place baking soda (a base) inside a container shaped like a volcano. Pour vinegar (an acid) on top. The acid neutralizes the base and produces carbon dioxide bubbles. The chemical name for this is an acid-base reaction. The fizzing and bubbling come from the gas escaping into the air.
