Abstract

Shawn McClesky

The purpose of this project is to find out if organic or inorganic fertilizer will produce the fastest growth results. I predict the organic mixture of Alaska liquid fish emulsion will produce the fastest growth results.

Six peat cups were filled with potting soil each having a dash of grass seed placed in them. Three cups were fertilized with an organic fertilizer while three more were fertilized with an inorganic fertilizer. Each cup was watered every other day and the fertilizer was added once a week. The results were recorded for two weeks.

My prediction was proved to be incorrect. The inorganic fertilizer, Miracle Gro, proved to produce the fastest growth results. On an average, the inorganic fertilizer grew 1.2 mm taller than the organic fertilizer in a time period of two weeks.
