Alloy
Alloy is a metal made by mixing two or more metals together to make them stronger.
Think of it this way
A metal alloy is like a bowl of mixed nuts — peanuts, almonds, and cashews all packed together. Each nut fills gaps the others leave behind. The mix is harder to crush than a bowl of just one type. That tight packing is what makes alloys stronger than pure metals.
Explaining alloy by grade level
Some metals are soft on their own. When you mix two metals, you get a new one. This new metal can be harder and stronger. Heating it up can change how hard it gets.
