Bioethanol

Bioethanol is a fuel made from plants that you can burn for heat and power.

Think of it this way

Think of a pot of corn mash on a stove. The mash sits and bubbles for days, like bread dough left to rise. Tiny yeasts eat the sugar and make alcohol. You then heat the mash in a tall pot with a tube on top. Steam rises, cools in the tube, and drips out as a clear liquid. That liquid is bioethanol. Pour it into a lamp or a stove burner and light it. It burns with a clean blue flame, just like the gas ring under a soup pot.

Explaining bioethanol by grade level

Some plants hold a kind of sugar inside them. People can turn that sugar into a fuel. When you burn this fuel, it heats things up. It works a lot like gas from a pump.
